This five-day course provides a comprehensive introduction to the art of natural perfumery, including how to construct a unique fragrance for another person, based around their aromatic preferences. The course is very practical, combining a mix of lectures with laboratory work, pair work and group discussion.
Over the five days you will work with perfumer Alec Lawless using an array of 60 aromatics – from the ethereal essences of jasmine, rose and gardenia to the balsamic myrrh, frankincense and benzoin – to create a sophisticated natural fragrance. With a set curriculum to follow, the five days will be filled with focused learning and exciting experiments.
All course materials and daily refreshments are provided. You will also receive a copy of Alec’s book ‘Artisan Perfumery or Being Led by the Nose’, and a 56ml Italian Flint Glass bottle of your perfume with a personalised label. You’ll also enjoy preferential rates for purchases of Essentially Me supplies should you wish to continue learning from home.
Suitable for the experienced perfumer as well as perfume enthusiasts looking to develop their competence in perfume making.
Courses run throughout the year, usually from Wednesday - Sunday.
